MONSANTO: The Deadliest Corporation in America

Death from the ground

Death from the ground

I have been preaching about Monsanto for 5 years, sadly, it was falling upon deft ears. If you know anything about this company then telling they were born out of WWII, when they developed nerve gas, would be a waste of time right. Then after that ended (due to lack of war) they moved into the human art of killing grass, aka “roundup”.

That business model was good, but only dealt with have of the market, since they could kill grass what about growing stuff, like “corn” just for a starter. But why stop with making heirloom seeds purer, when you can “genetically modify” them, then you can brand them as your patent seeds so you can control the market.

This also sets the stage for lawsuits suing farmers when their crops test positive with Monsantos genetic seeds pattern. Many farmers have indeed been sued, unable to stand against the machine of this corporate giant, and many lost their farms in legal fees fighting this behemoth. Many other countries refuse to let their seeds enter and be sold citing “genetic seeds are unstable and untested side effects are unknown”.

Now farmers have been winning in court citing Monsantos seeds germinated their cops, therefore “tainting” the quality of NON-GMO or “organic” crop costing them more money.

In case you were not aware, it was our own government what was writing laws to “ban small organic farms”, just 4 years ago in HR-875. This would outlaw the right to grow your own vegetables and gardens citing “regulations to control public safety.

monsanto signThe only problem is you will need a little help from your friendly local and federal government, in steps George Bush Sr. He embeds a few laws in favor of Monsanto, and they are off and running. That was 30 years ago, as politics has played out over the course of time, Monsanto has been buying the government, and installing certain members into the Supreme Court aka, Clarence Thomas. Then you will need someone in charge of agriculture aka Tom Vilisac Secretary of Agriculture, then you have a perfect receipt for back door deals. All you need now is some public figure aka Bill Gates Microsoft founder, to invest millions into Monsanto, all in the name of “Feed the World”.

Sounds pretty nifty huh? Now for your story:

The Law allows Monstanto to plant experimental GMO crops even if they pose an extreme risk to human and environmental health.

the Monsanto Protection Act is the name given to what’s known as a legislative rider that was inserted into the Senate Continuing Resolution spending bill, “allowing it to sneak through” the Senate.

Using the deceptive title of Farmer Assurance Provision, Sec. 735 of this bill actually grants Monsanto immunity from federal courts pending the review of any GM crop that is thought to be dangerous.

Under this section, courts would be helpless to stop Monsanto from continuing to plant GM crops that even the US government considered to be a danger to health or the environment.

It is a lobbyist-created recurring nuisance that has been squashed in previous legislation thanks to outcry from not only grassroots but major organizations. Last time we saw The Center for Food Safety, the National Family Farm Coalition, the American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU), the Sierra Club, and the Union of Concerned Scientists all come out against the Monsanto Protection Act from the 2012 Farm Bill.
